Why this topic is important

Behind every record is a person – and that is why GDPR matters. Personal data is any information – alone or in combination with other information – that can be used to identify an individual. Mishandling that data can lead to real life consequences for that individual – financial loss, public exposure, humiliation or worse.

UK legislation, primarily through the Date Protection Act 2018, places a duty on all employers to protect an individual’s personal data, including raising awareness amongst their staff. The consequences for breaches can be significant for both the individual perpetrator and the organisation, with significant fines and loss of reputation.

This course goes a long way to meeting an organisation’s obligation take all reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment and - alongside appropriate policies and procedures – is a firm foundation for any defence should the worst ever happen.
